The Little Giants finalist teams are already known
The regional competitions held in Burgas, Stara Zagora and Sofia finished with plenty of positive emotions and fun, and the winner teams will test their strength on the finals for the Bulstrad Cup 2018
On October 9 ended the first part of qualifying games of the student mini volleyball tournament Little Giants for the Bulstrad Cup 2018. After the event for the Sofia zone and the competitions in Burgas and Stara Zagora, the teams to face each other on October 20, during the final games for the Bulstrad Cup 2018 in the town of Razlog, are already known.
Following Little Giants’ start in Varna, the second event of the national mini volleyball tournament took place in Nikola Stanchev Sports Hall in Burgas. Official guests of the event were Mrs. Yordanka Ananieva, Deputy Mayor for Education and Culture in Burgas Municipality, Mrs. Pavlina Aleksieva, Senior Expert at the Regional Department of Education in Burgas, and Mr. Nikolay Stankov, Senior Expert at the Education and Demography Department of Burgas Municipality. The Little Giants event in Burgas was also held with the support of Mr. Krasimir Sabev, Director of the Burgas General Agency of ZAD BULSTRAD VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP.
In Stara Zagora, the Little Giants games coincided with the celebrations of the city and finished with the winner team from Veselin Hanchev 9 Primary School which prevailed in a competition among 9 schools. Special guests of the event were Mr. Georgi Dimitrov, Head of the Sports Division in Stara Zagora Municipality, and Mrs. Milena Yoldova from Stara Zagora Regional Inspectorate of Education.
During the Sofia zone event in Sikonko Sports Hall, 23 teams competed in two phases: first, in all-play-all games and then in direct eliminations. Special guest of the event was Dr. Irena Dimitrova, Director of the Prevention, Integration, Sport and Tourism Directorate of Sofia Municipality, who expressed wholehearted support for the initiative and inspired the youngsters with positive emotions before start of the games. The awards for the participants and the winners were presented personally by Mr. Plamen Shinov, Executive Director of ZAD BULSTRAD VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP.
The teams to compete for the Bulstrad Cup on 20 October are:
- Varna zone: Nikola Vaptsarov Secondary School, Suvorovo
- Burgas zone: Vasil Aprilov Primary School, Burgas
- Stara Zagora zone: Veselin Hanchev 9 Primary School, Stara Zagora
- Sofia zone: Hristo Smirnenski 2 Primary School, Berkovitsa
The host teams from the town of Razlog will present their winner after internal qualifying games held among the schools there.
In addition to the prestigious award of the Bulstrad Cup 2018, the team with the final victory in the Little Giants game will receive the special prize of summer camp attendance.
Little Giants is an initiative of ZAD BULSTRAD VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among pre-teens and supporting the development of the volleyball sport in Bulgaria. Little Giants is organized with the support of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation and the municipalities of Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora and Razlog.
